Ruby’s 2nd Annual Valentine Party

Ruby hosted her 2nd Valentine Party this year, and it was super cute and super fun — but there is a HUGE difference between having nine 2-year olds at your house vs. 1-year olds like last year!

I didn’t go as crazy as last year, but I still managed to whip up a few mini-cupcakes and some snacks, and we had a little craft station set up outside to make Valentine picture frames for the dads. The kids kept stealing toys from each other played, the moms broke up fights got some chatting in, and Charlotte even managed to model her picture frame for us!

The best part was the Valentine card exchange! I just couldn’t envision anything cuter than these kids passing out little cards like I used to when I was in school. All the moms were into it — some got crafty and made their own beautiful cards, while some moms went old school and bought the kind in the box just like our moms used to do! We even got lucky and got them all to sit for two seconds before passing them out.

I can’t help but love the day of love, and I especially love seeing all these kiddos and their mommas feeling the love as well!

The Kims rock the 2012 L.A. Auto Show

This was the second year that both Ed and I attended media days at the L.A. Auto Show. We had a great time, and enjoyed many perks!

It’s a busy day …

But we get the inside scoop at all the press conferences.

We decided we want to be a Fiat family after the unveil of the 500L!

All the hard work calls for refreshment. Audi always has the best food — traditional weisswurst sausage and bavarian pretzels. With beer, of course.

The biggest surprise of all was that Tenacious D played a very small show at the Hyundai After Party! Carrie got to high five Jack Black, and Kyle gave her the setlist and his guitar pick. It was incredible to be standing right in front of them!

If you’d like to see the actual work Carrie did, you can read my stories on the Fiat 500L, Family Crossovers and the Ford Transit Wagon Connect!

Bonus: a short video clip of Jack Black on the Saxaboom!

Yo Gabba Gabba LIVE! at the Nokia Theatre

Ruby had no idea what was coming the day after Thanksgiving; We surprised her with tickets to the Yo Gabba Gabba Live show and she almost lost her mind! After seeing her face during the 60 minutes of that performance, we now know it’s the best money weve ever spent. She had a blast … and admittedly, so did we.

Pardon the crappy pics, but some things just can’t be documented, I suppose. It is a fun memory we’ll have forever. Apparently, just like at past shows where celebs like Gwen Stefani and Jessica Alba brought their kids,  Alyssa Milano and Johnny Knoxville took their littles to the show we were at, too.

Here’s a short clip of Ruby rockin’ out:

The Halloween Crew

Mason, Violet, Ruby, Berlin, Harper + Drew

This year, everybody came over to our house to trick-or-treat down our street and to hit up the free carnival at the park at the end of our block. We managed to get a pic of all the kiddos before the madness began. So hard to believe how much they’ve all grown in just a year.

Last year, Ruby wasn’t even walking … this year, she walked up and down the street and all the way to the park and back!

She had fun with Papaw

Ruby + Drew pretty much held hands all night

And Halmoni came along for trick-or-treating, too!

And yes, she enjoyed her 1st lollipop. Look at that face!

She sure has changed a lot since last year!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Costumes of 2012

We went to The Arzate’s Annual Halloween Party last night and had a BLAST. The kiddos and adults all dressed up … and we did a terrible job of taking pictures! Everybody will be coming here on Wednesday to trick-or-treat on our street, so hopefully we’ll get more pics on  Halloween! Here’s what we did get:

Ruby as Olivia (she’s obsessed with the books!)

Carrie as Rosie the Riveter

And Ed rocking “Gangnam Style” as PSY
