The birthday keeps rollin’ on!

Now that we’re back from our Palm Springs weekend, we had one more round of birthday celebrations for Carrie to go. For the final bash, we had to get the parents involved, so we all met up at PF Chang’s for a massive and delish meal.

Before the meal came presents! From Carrie’s parents came this great card showing everything that had happened in 1976 and the most awesome polka dot purse.

Ed’s mom got Carrie this really cool Luvcat wallet:

Ed’s dad knows that a Target gift card is a surefire hit with Carrie!

Everyone had a great time and came away with really full stomachs, as you can see…

As they say in all of Asia during birthdays, long noodles for long life!

Arrrrr!!!

Tonight we took Kendall, Jordan, Mikayla and Ethan to the Pirates Dinner Adventure. We had a blast, and they definitely stood out in all of their Pirate Gear. This was their Christmas gift from us this year and we are proud to report they did their homework – they read through the entire “How to Become a Pirate in 7 Days or Less” book we gave them, sported pirate tattoos, eye patches, vests, bandanas and even picked up a little Pirate lingo!

(*Ed’s wearing an apropos shirt – we were driving a mini-van this weekend and having mega-fun)

Once we were seated, we were introduced to our “Green Pirate”, Jose. He was our pirate of the evening, and everytime we saw him we had to stand up and cheer. Our pirate was also a big fan of the kids’ attire, so he said he’d definitely be needing their help later on in the show – he’d be bringing them on board for sure!

He made good on his promise – Kendall and Jordan went up and took their oath to be loyal pirates. They felt pretty cool going up on stage and getting their pirate hats. Mikayla and Ethan were feeling a little shy, so they watched their big sisters. Later on in the show, Kendall even got to go into costume and hang out on stage while they battled the evil Captain Sebastian the Black!

Finally, our beloved Green Pirate Jose took one last shot with the kids:

All in all, it was a great time we won’t soon forget! Now, we’re winding down from the evening of fun at the slumber party in our living room!

Happy 1st Birthday, Ella!

Today we celebrated Ella’s 1st Birthday. She had a “CinderELLA” themed party at the house. We can’t believe its been a year already.

Of course, Dad made the cake, and he did an outstanding job as usual. The cupcakes are always the biggest hit for all the kids, and they ran around with blue mouths afterward!

Family tradition is that on the baby’s 1st birthday, they always get the top tier of their cake – and they can go at it with no utensils!

Ella was a good sport, but she was pretty tired once it finally came time for cake time. We have to admit, it was pretty cute just watching her, even if she did get upset.

A few faves from the day:

Auntie Carrie & Grandma kiss the Birthday Girl.

Auntie Carrie shows Kendall how to be cool with the “over the glasses” pose.

Jordan & Ethan pose with Uncle Ed.

Papaw & the Birthday Girl.

Mommy & Ella hit the pinata.

Mikaya & Uncle Ed play outside.

Christmas at the Faceys!

Christmas is a longstanding and cherished Facey tradition, and Christmas 2007 was another fun-filled (and delicious) day with good times, lots of decorations, and lots of awesome gifts!

We regret that this is the only real picture of the Facey living room – it’s blurry and doesn’t quite show all the details – Larry and Mary Anne (with a little help from Carrie and Ed) got the Christmas spirit flowing with all those Christmas decorations and of course Larry’s handmade Christmas stockings for all of the Facey clan…including a new one for Ella!
Speaking of Ella, this was her first Christmas, and her first taste of what a Facey Christmas is all about. As you can see, she’ll do just fine. :)
As a baby bonus, little Taylor (the Facey kids’ cousin) was able to make it too, along with Debbie and Millie.

As you can see here, there was plenty of Christmas present mayhem!

What the pics don’t show is the wonderful food, the viewings of High School Musical (now we finally know what that’s all about), and the awesome gift that we, Eric, and Shirley got – a trip to Vegas (yeah baby) to see Terry Fator, the out-of-this-world ventriloquist that won America’s Got Talent!
It was a very Merry Christmas – we were pooped by the end, but feeling very merry indeed.

Happy Birthday, Dad!

We all got together tonight to celebrate the infamous Lardog and his upcoming 59th year! The whole crew made it over to our house before heading out to dinner, and a good time was had by all.

We have to admit though that Miss Ella kinda stole the show (you know we love you though, Dad! heh heh). Come on – how can you resist this face?

We even got to see her new teeth!
