The Transmission LA AV Club exhibition at MOCA

We were in for a serious treat on Saturday as we headed up to MOCA to catch the Transmission LA: AV Club exhibit that was curated by none other than the Beastie Boys’ Mike D! It was sort of a magical wonderland inside, and we definitely recommend that everybody go see it! The best news of all? It’s FREE.

Here are just a few — of many! — highlights:

With so many amazing things to look at, we decided go outside, walk around Little Tokyo, and of course – take a short Yogurtland break.

Our family … great art … good food … these are the days we live for!

p.s. Here’s a little video clip of our fave part of the exhibit:

Sprinkles Cupcake ATM

This weekend, on our way up to LACMA, we realized that we arrived an hour before it opened and Ruby had fallen asleep in the car. To kill some time, we thought we’d drive by Sprinkles’ new 24/7 Cupcake ATM to see what it was like. We certainly didn’t expect to get a cupcake, especially since all of the coverage on the news was reporting that the lines were hours long!

Well, we got lucky. Maybe it was because of the pouring rain outside, or maybe it was because it was only 10:30am, but there was no line whatsoever! I hopped out of the car and returned with a perfectly packaged Chocolate Marshmallow cupcake! It was just as delicious as it sounds.

Wanna see how it works? Check out the video!

WE LOVE LACMA

Just another Sunday-Funday at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art! We are so happy to be card-carrying members now, and we are putting that membership to great use these days. We’re especially glad to see Ruby has just as much fun there as we do.

The newest fun exhibit is Metropolis II, an awesome miniature city with cars racing through it! Of course, anything in miniature is a given love for Ed, and Ruby is fascinated by watching the cars go. Here’s part of the piece:

And here’s a short clip of it in motion:

And finally, here’s a cute little clip of Miss Ruby, having fun playing around all the lamp posts in Chris Burden’s Urban Light:
